In addition to eliminating the ink bleed from the back side of the paper, the image needs to be sharpened and the contrast increased. The color of the paper can be eliminated by adjusting the highlight level in the Levels dialogue box in Photoshop, and the contrast can be increased in the Curves dialogue box. Additionally, I would probably colorize the image with a subtile, deep hue of a dark color, such as blue or purple.
